Gitent errors when selecting submodules from the tree

If you add a repository as a submodule inside another repository, gitent errors when you click the submodule's directory inside the parent repository. Not a huge deal; you shouldn't ever really need to browse a submodule, but if that's the case it should show an error message describing why it won't display.
